We all know what the evil foods are. Stuff like candy, salty snacks, mayo, sour cream, soda. But there are some so-called "unhealthy" foods that just might be good for you.
According to Men's Health mag, foods like sour cream, chocolate, and booze can actually be good for you. We know that chocolate contains a lot of stuff that can be healthy (especially dark chocolate, the more cocoa the better) and we know that red wine has important antioxidants. But what about stuff like pork rinds and sour cream? Well, pork rinds have zero carbs, tons of protein, and while they have around 9 grams of fat per serving, that's still less than potato chips. And sour cream? While the percentage of fat per serving is high, the total isn't, and most have less fat than you'll get drinking an 8 ounce glass of 2% milk.
Of course, no one's saying to base your eating habits and all your meals around pork rinds and sour cream, but it's probably best not to eliminate so-called "bad" foods from your diet and to keep an open mind about your diet and how to eat things in moderation.

Well, then I fell in love and got married, and guess what? I GAINED IT ALL BACK!!!! LOL! So I have just started Atkins again this week, and added pork rinds again as a snack. They taste great, give me the crunch I crave, and because they are strictly made of all protein and fat, one simply can't cram them down like potato chips-- you actually HAVE to eat them slower!

It became a FAD a few years ago, and yes, the hype has calmed, but that makes it no less effective. I am insulin resistant and have MAJOR gluten and sugar intolerances. Atkins not only helps me keep my weight at a healthy level, but I can EAT LIKE A HUMAN BEING and not starve myself. I have energy all the time, and my mood is good. My bad cholesterol actually went DOWN on Atkins, and my good UP.
And...why do you care anyway? If you don't like prok rinds, DON'T EAT THEM. Not hard, huh?

We dipped the pork rinds in vinegar and garlic with salt. And it really tasted so good that we couldn't help munching this pork rinds forever and ever, amen!

Wrap the pounded chicken around swiss and ham, then dunk in egg wash then the crushed pork rinds. Top with butter, and bake 45 mins in 350 degree oven. You'll love it and when on the Akins diet, can eat a lot. Enjoy!

Crush up about 2 cups of pork rinds, add tw eggs and enough milk (about 1/4 cup)(some say to use cream instead), 3 tsp. of sweetener (Splenda)and some cinnamon. Fry it in a little bit of oil - or in a non-stick pan. That's it. It tastes, surprisingly, like french toast.

It is obvious why many have lost on the low carb passe popular diets ~ they have always eaten the animal proteins, but have cut out the faux food ~ synthetic man-made foods in floured & white breads, pastas, pastries which have no resemblance to real, whole, natural foods which come off the tree, out of the ground as do vegetables, and off the vine (as off the true ~ the fruits). When people finally figure out our Creator of our bodies knows what is best to keep our bodies healthy, beautiful and strong ("make the best and most of your own D N A with Z n a")~ in HIS omniscience ~ "all knowing" what is best for our bodies in the most nutrient dense, fiber rich, enzyme containing, alkaline forming foods, we will all be feeding our healthy cells and NOT fat cells, nor aging, stress, diseases or cancer. Thanks, again, Al, for standing out ~ and not now alone in this crowd!
You are courageous & definitively making a valid point that needed to be made. Thank you, Al. Do we wonder about why these high protein low carb diets are now no longer the rage? Finally, the facts are getting out about the need for the complex carbohydrates ~ as shown us in the updated food pyramid. Research data supports the facts that these necessary complex carbohydrates help the brain function well ~ and that our children cannot function or learn well without them. Now it's time to finally understand why the "GOD packaged foods" which are live, contain the natural phyto proteins and balance for our optimal level of functioning in the brain and body, work so well to keep the body's metabolism healthiest ~ so that we don't accumulate fat and store excess what we consume into excess fatty tissue. The key here is NOT "DIET!"
LIVE IT! Do not "DIE IT" Let's finally get our overly fed undernourished nation on track! Let's first empower our own lives, visualize, realize, then actualize our best lives!
Let's search, as I have for decades in order to be and stay alive. For me, it has been my lifeline to learn how best to feed a healthy, balanced body. We need, as I, that which feeds all the best bodily functions to circumvent the challenges, as with me ~ by not having any thyroid function. Having nothing but scar tissue from getting my thyroid gland radiated at age 16 with an archaic x-ray machine catapulted me into a quest that was lifeline in finding the best ways to eat and exercise. Fighting for my life did it:
It was necessity as the "mother of invention" in my life ~ with my needing to learn how best to eat and exercise ~ get the nutrients to all my brain and body cells most efficiently, effectively just to stay alive. With my passion for life and living, it was imperative to get past the so-called high protein diet I learned about in the late 60s.
It is SOOOOOOOOO very archaic and WRONG. Our bodies are NOT meant to be eating so much animal protein. Those who do NOT understand nutrition and have cravings for an abundance of animal protein are most likely needing nutrients "second-hand" by what the animal gets in nutritional balance from its vegetarian ~ plant based diet.
*Why not get your nutrients first hand, live! We can eat a higher percentage of enzyme containing, alkaline forming foods in each of our snacks and meals! This works WELL!
We can ~ many thousands who think as I do realize this ~ as my own decades of research prove, we actually eat well without dieting EVER AGAIN! No more restrictions on carbs or caloric intake or fat grams and eating to build the body's healthiest metabolism, for our looking and feeling our best ~ & better by the day is my motto.
Your comments are appreciated here, Al. You're the ONLY ONE who gets it!
It's time to inform the public that eating a balance of sumptuous selections, delectably delcious, eating without feeding fat cells, and feasting on favorite foods can be a panacea for all who really want to get better by the day ~ and eat to "beat cellulite" as has been benefiting the many thousands with whom I share these ideas ~ it works!
My body gets better by the decade, and you can see that Al's point has validity! Let's look and feel our best ~ as my own most recent photo of my "decades after" body ~ which tried the "pork rinds" following that idiot diet which was the craze for the past few years back when I was in my late teens and early 20s. To have the best body, better than in my 20s and 30s, NOW is due to the fact that I trust my "MAKER" and creator of my body and yours! HE gave us the natural foods in their perfect packages.
Let's SAVOR THE FLAVOR of these and natural herbs and seasonings and ENJOY! EMPOWER! ENERGIZE and REALIZE your own perfect potential in POWERFULLY living your life with love and passion for realizing your own dreams! Again, thanks, Al. Your comments were the catalyst for this dissertation. Now, wishing all here well ~ blessings & Namaste & let's again peruse the profundity of Al's truth, below, to reiterate PURE TRUTH & CANDOR and for standing alone in the crowd as one who knows truth!
THANKS, AL for your comments:
"Well Well Well... It seems that all you have to do is to say that something is not so bad for you and there you have it! Everybody is gonna eat those nasty little pieces of skin! Aren't there other things that 'Are not so bad for you,' that people can eat, without having blocked arteries? Just remember folks that the Adkins Diet is something of the past, just like pork rinds should be ! ((((((HELLO))))))"
